Pound per Square Inch is a unit of Pressure. It is used to calculate the pressure applied by one Pound to one square inch.  

The formula for PSI is 

PSI= 1 lb (pound)/ 1inch²

It is commonly used to measure gases and liquids. Like to measure the tire gas pressures.

There are different types of abbreviations used for PSI. Some are

• lbf/in2

As per physical calculations in average psi is approximately equal to 6895 N/m²

PSI Full form in Police

Police Sub Inspector is the full form of PSI in the police department. PSI is the position in police department. 

There are different types of eligibility criteria are required to become a PSI(Police Sub Inspector). 

such are 

1. Age should be minimum of 21 years and maximum of 30        years.

2.  Height requirements for PSI are in men-165 cm and for     
     women, the minimum height should be around 155 cm

3. Chest requirement for PSI is 

•           Unexpanded- 80cm

•           Expanded - 85cm

4. Weighs should be corresponding to their heights

5. Candidate should be graduate.

6. To qualify a PSI candidate should attend and pass the 
    prelims and Mains if qualifies then should face the direct 
    interview
